| Ashis finally made it in spite of all the hardships and temptations he faced…
His mum had so much hope in him if Ashish would complete his S.L.C. (now SEE – Secondary Education Examination). Just to briefly recap how Ashish has been through, he could not continue his formal education in school system because of his responsibility towards his siblings, had to support his single mother financially, shame that he felt because his friends of his age had already been through this level of exam, during this time, he also felt increased negative peer pressures to drop out from school. He failed in grade 8 and could no longer continue in this school, he joined a new school, he managed to pass grade 8 and then joined private school that gave him flexibility to work as well as study. To all our surprise, Ashish indeed, persevered to hold on to his secondary level education and passed SEE with B+. This is quite an achievement for a person like Ashish who have come from very hard road of life… Ashish comments below about how much he was helped by Arise and Shine to never give up on his studies and how much assistance ANS provided him in his difficult subjects such as Math and Science. “I could not afford to go to tuition classes to receive help for the difficult subjects, regular assistance that I received from ANS helped me set a habit of study.
