No One is Coming to Save You

When you are walking behind a girl at night, saying this title out loud may not really bring a positive outcome for you. However, I want you to repeat this title daily, within yourself, and/or out loud. It will sound practical after my explanation. Here’s why:

I‘ll be serious now.

I would really urge you to stare at the title. Go on. Do it. Now, attentively focus on the word “coming”. Yes, no CEO is going to stumble to your house, look at your face and leave a briefcase full of money while you lay there procrastinating. However, there is a place we can go, when we don’t have money, that is TO WORK.

As humans, we have our own problems. To expect someone else to solve that problem for us is like one Donkey expecting another Donkey to carry their load. It’s just unfair to the other Donkey, I mean Person.

Does that mean you shouldn’t ask for help? Definitely not. You should ask for help. But you shouldn’t wait around for someone to come to you and help you. You go to them. Although you can ask for help, whether your problem is solved depends on your action; a doctor may diagnose you and prescribe you medication, but it is you who is responsible for applying that.

With all this, I’m advising you to take responsibility for your problems, your insecurities and all your shortcomings. Let’s stop playing the blame game. Let’s stop over complaining. Let’s evolve, adapt and overcome like we humans always have.

I know it sounds unfair, trust me, I really know, and it is unfair because some of the problems, insecurities and shortcomings we have were forced on us. Like childhood traumas, getting cheated on therefore trust issues, disabilities, diseases, anxiety, depression, the list is long. But even if they were forced on us, it’s now our problem, our insecurities and our shortcomings. No amount of blaming will fix it. The only person suffering from those is us, not them. Only our actions can fix it.

Take action. Today. May you succeed on this journey, my dear brothers and sisters.
